Just a reminder that Monday, May 5 is the last day for registering for the 2008 St. George Marathon Lottery. The deadline is 12:00 Midnight. If you haven't already registered, you can access the registration site at http://www.stgeorgemarathon.com.

The lottery will take place Wednesday, May 7 and the results will be posted no later than Friday, May 9.

Our 2008 St George Marathon quota is filled.

If you did not get in St George and want to complete the UGS08 you will need to run Des News instead.

Registration for UGS08 will remain open until 31 May to those already in St George or those who will run Des News.

Information

The 2008 Utah Grand Slam is four marathons, plus an alternate for those who must miss one of the four.

This is a competition, so those who want to compete for the top three trophies and age-group awards, you will need to run the four designated marathons.

Age groups are in decades; 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89.

Remember, you, yourself, must register for all marathons on time!

In recognition for completing the Grand Slam all will be awarded a hefty 2008 Grand Slam medal, a very cool UGS08 tech t-shirt, and a UGS running hat. All awards will be bestowed at a ceremony after the St. George Marathon. Again Ogden, Deseret News, Park City, and Top of Utah should offer a $5 discount on registration. Details TBA.

You are responsible for registering for each marathon by the deadlines of those organizations. Entry to the St George Marathon is guaranteed for registered Slammers who did not make it in the lottery and have completed the previous required marathons. You must enter the St. George Lottery!

After each marathon, we will contact two Slammers who completed that particular marathon and let them know that they have won a free pair of shoes from the footwear sponsor of that leg of the Slam. And, post-race schwag bags will be better than ever so be sure to find us after each marathon. Plus, all registered participants will receive 10% off their purchases at the Wasatch Running Center throughout the Grand Slam season.

St George Marathon Registration begins April 1, 2008. The deadline for registration is May 5, 2008. Applications & money need to be in the St George Marathon office, or completed online, no later than 5:00 p.m.(MST) May 5, 2008! The online deadline is 12:00 Midnight.
