2010 Registration/Lottery

This year, because the UGS is getting so big (in regards to St George spots and post-marathon schwag and tracking everyone through 4-5 marathons), the 2010 Grand Slam entry will be a lottery.  We will accept applications between December 1 through January 15 and will let everyone who gets in know by January 20.  Fill out the registration form completely.  You will also find the Ogden registration form below for your convenience.  Park City will still offer a discount as well.

As with all race lotteries, preference will be given to a number of different groups; Locals (especially Sandy residents), Out-of-towners, Repeat Slammers, First-time Slammers, Age-groupers, and also Loyal WRC Customers. Hint: If you are a repeat Slammer living in Sandy and shop at the WRC, or an 80-year old first-time out-of-towner, you should get in. That being said, there is no guarantee you will be drawn for the 2010 Grand Slam. If we do not reach our limit, all registrations will be accepted. Good luck, run lots.

No refund if you neglect to register for a race on time.

Information

The 2010 Utah Grand Slam is four marathons, plus an alternate for those who must miss one of the four.

This is a competition, so those who want to compete for the top three trophies and age-group awards, you will need to run the four designated marathons.

Age groups are in decades; 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69.

Remember, you, yourself, must register for all marathons on time!

In recognition for completing the Grand Slam all will be awarded a hefty 2010 Grand Slam medal and a very cool UGS2010 tech t-shirt.  All awards will be bestowed at a ceremony after the St. George Marathon.  Again Ogden, Utah Valley, and Park City offer a $5 discount on registration.

You are responsible for registering for each marathon by the deadlines of those organizations.ÊEntry to the St. George Marathon is for registered Slammers who did not make it in the lottery and have completed the previous required marathons.  All Slammers still must enter the St. George Marathon lottery.

After each marathon, we will contact two Slammers who completed that particular marathon and let them know that they have won a pair of shoes from the footwear sponsor of that leg of the Slam (You cannot trade them for another brand, they gave them, you get to wear them or give them to a friend. Please support our sponsors.).Ê And, post-race schwag bags will be better than ever so be sure to find us after each marathon (Sorry, first come, first serve. We don't have enough schwag for every Slammer so. . . Run Fast!). Please pick up your own Schwag bag, letting your Slammer friends who have not yet finished pick up theirs. Remember, all registered participants will receive 10% off their MSRP purchases at the Wasatch Running Center throughout the Grand Slam season. If you don't take advantage of the discount it is your own choice! We do what we can to support your running addiction.

If you are unable to complete all of the four Grand Slam events you will not be eligable to receive the medal or T-shirts. Also, we will not be able to recommend your entry into the St George Marathon.

If you have any questions regarding the Grand Slam, email us at wasatchrunning@gmail.com but don't call because we are helping runners with shoes.Ê

All correspondences will be by email, so if you do not have email we cannot communicate.

We would appreciate your feedback and suggestions on how to make this a wonderful event for you, the participants/maniacs, this year and for years to come.Ê Check this page often for updates and results.

Remember, you, yourself, must register for all marathons on time!

Good luck, have fun, train hard, be smart, run well, be well.
